Hi,
I have Intel's i5 4570 3.2ghz, 4th gen processor along with 8GB corsair vengeance RAM. I'planning to buy GTX 1060 graphics card. Presently I have corsair VS450W PSU, Do I need to buy a higher power PSU or it is sufficient enough to install GTX 1060 with current PSU?. I saw a video where the host said though Nvidia mentioned 400W requirement, 300W PSU is enough to install GTX 1060.
Thanks all for your help.

300W is pushing it, but Seasonic SS350 might be enough. Considering your PC is >$700 though, the minimum you should target is an EVGA G2 550 or Seasonic G 550. No, they are NOT expensive considering they literally are the most important compoenent in the computer, without a PSU you couldn't even turn on a fan, let alone...
Nope! VS is the entry level of corsair and it is not intended for gaming. It is a tier 4 PSU with basic chinese capacitors and no safety features. You should get a good true rated 500W power supply like the EVGA one and it will do the job just fine. Trust me man you can never go cheap with a PSU! I am running a 1060 too and I considered the VS 650W as at that point of time, I thought what could possibly go wrong.... right? And theeeeen 2 weeks after my entire place's electricity source has been cut off. Luckily I am using a reliable power supply! Imagine what would have happened if I was using a VS series with no safety features? Goodbye PSU, goodbye processor, goodbye 1060, goodbye money. LOL Buy a quality power supply mate! Cheers
