Psu for gtx 1080

Solution
Yes it is. But, the 850W PSU is totally overkill for a single GTX 1080 rig (unless you are looking at an SLI setup). It currently costs ~$180 at Newegg and Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CGY4EUA/?tag=pcpapi-20.

For better value and performance, assuming you will only run a single GPU, I'd suggest you get the ~$110 Corsair RM550x in Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015YEICJ2/?tag=pcpapi-20 (or the Corsair RM650x at only $99 after $10 rebate in Newegg https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139143&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=).

The Cooler Master only has 5-year warranty, while the Corsair RMx has 10-year. Both are good-quality units.

A much cheaper option is the EVGA SuperNova G3 550 or G3 650. The 550 is $80 after $20 rebate in Newegg https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438095&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=, while the 650 is only $70 after $20 rebate card in Newgg https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438094&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

The EVGA G3 has 7-year warranty and is also a great quality PSU.

Solution

If you already have it, it should work. But you will want to get a reliable PSU in the future. When PSU crashes, it will bring down other components with it. EVGA supernova, G2 G3 and seasonic focus/evo are good choices.

that seasonic unit, is not a ''should work'' case.
It is still is a masterpiece : https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/CoolerMaster/V850/11.html

Really? he has a cooler master one, dude.

At least click on the link I provided, I try to help you and the op.
Cooler master bought this powersupply from seasonic BUT!, pimped the outside of the box and branded it cooler master
Its a seasonic platform.

Thanks for that info, I know too little :) So is cooler master now all seasonic spinoff? Or just this model?
