PSU For R9 280X

I'm looking at either the Asus R9 280X card, or the Sapphire model with Tri-X cooling.
Specs:
600W 80+ Bronze Corsair
MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard
FX 6300 CPU
8GB RAM
EVGA GTX-660
Do I need a higher wattage PSU, and which of these two would be a better model to choose from?

If you are talking about the R9 280x, then yes it will be fine. But I would go for the Tri-X one. Higher base clock, boost clock. But it really depends on your personal preference, they are all similar.

and check for a psu with gold or platinum certification

I read that a 750W psu is recommended. Is this just for insurance, to the cover the companies ass, or should I take this into account?
I'll definitely go with the Sapphire card though

A lot of companies overestimate the power supply recommendation because they dont want to be responsible for any damages done to your system if they give you false information.
