I swapped my PSU with a pre-built Acer PSU from my mom's work computer. The PSU I swapped with was FSP Group brand PSU. The PSU worked wonderfully on my mom's computer with no heating issues whatsoever, granted the case itself was enclosed and let out no bad smells.

I swapped PSU with my now dead one and the maximum load was 220 watts so I swapped it out since I wanted to save some cash and I knew it was a functioning power supply.

Now after an hour or two the PSU started to let out a horrid burning plastic smell but the PSU was not even warm so I had no idea what was going on and my CPU Temp never went beyond 50 Celsius. I was wondering if it was okay-ish or normal since the PSU wasn't even close to warm during those times.

My specs
PSU: FSP Group fsp220-50aaba
Processor: A4-6300
GPU: None
Ram: Single Channel 8gb DDR3 1600
No case fans
Single 250 gb HDD
