Question PSU lights up with CPU fan spinning for a second then stops in a repeating cycle

I believe it could either be the power supply itself or the AC adapter cable that I bought. Any other ideas I could be missing?

Did you have the problem BEFORE you bought the adapter cable?

Is this the FIRST attempt to get this running, or was it running previously and began having this issue at some point recently?

Is there a particular reason why you're trying to use that, ahem, thing, rather than an ACTUAL power supply unit like that board was intended to be used with?

It's the only power supply that fits in this case that meets the wattage requirement. I've used a 500w variation of this same power supply that's a little bigger which worked with an ITX motherboard.
