Question PSU OCCT test

Hi, today I noticed that my Windows 10 runs little slower in idle state. I thought I run CPU and PSU tests.

CPU test was OK, but in few first seconds of PSU testing in OCCT my CPU temps went to 95 - 100 Celsius, so I turned the test off to not burn my CPU. In those few seconds I got about 2400 errors while testing.

I don't know what can be wrong. Everything is OK in high demanding games, max temps are 74C. I wonder what could happen, yesterday the Windows idle state was OK, today everything seems slower about 15%.

I ran the antivirus and antimalware tests, two malwares found, deleted. Still the system is slower.

But what can be happening with that PSU test? I'm literally scared to start it again if the temps rises to 100C in few seconds. I would be grateful for any clues.

Specs:

MSI GeForce RTX 2070
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws V, DDR4, 16GB, 3200 MHz
Mainboard Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO
Intel Core i7-9700K, 3,6GHz oced to 4900GHz
PSU Silentum PC Supermo Gold 750W
Cooling Silentum PC Grandis 2
Windows 10 Home

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

How old is the PSU? You might want to see which version of Windows 10 you're on at the moment. We're currently on version 20H2. You might also want to see if you have any BIOS updates pending. If you have a number of BIOS updates to go through to reach the latest, gradually work your way to the latest, do not jump to the latest.

You might also want to state which version of OCCT you're using since that does put a lot of stress on the CPU, more so if you're using the wrong version for the right CPU. Use other benchmarking tools and ofc, games to see if you're experiencing any hiccups.

Thanks for answer.

My PSU is from April 2019. Thanks to you, I updated to newest version of BIOS. I had to hard reset it after update but it works now. Also I have Windows version up to date.

I have latest version of OCCT (7.3.0.) but also checked the 5.5.1. - on both running the PSU test results in almost 100C temperature on cores, last test freezed the Windows after about 4 seconds. I looked for other benchmarking tools, can't find a proper one to stress the PSU as they check 3D and CPU. Maybe do you reccomend one?

When playing games the CPU temps doesn't go above 74C. Can I sleep well if games are OK, but PSU tests are always fail? I don't really know what is going on.
