PSU over requirements worth it?

I bought a 500w corsair cx modular PSU for my system

CPU: Intel core i5 4690k
Mobo: msi z97s sli krait edition
Ram: corsair vengeance ddr3 1866
HDD: wd blue 1tb
Graphics Card: gtx 970 gigabyte non g1 model

CPU cooler : corsair h60 or h80i gt haven't decided yet

Can you return that Corsair CX and buy another brand? Its notorious on these forums for poor quality.

The EVGA G2 or GS 550, XFX TS 550, or Seasonic SII 520 are all far better choices.

Yeah go into your account on their website and your order and set up a return from there, they are pretty good about it.

Do everything you can to return it.

It will probably work, but that PSU is known for issues while gaming with any sort of high power GPU like the one you have. Its straight up not made to handle high loads.

Yes definitely, all GTX 970's need is 500 w, any of these good 550 w PSU's will handle the system well.

Yeah I would call them and check, or maybe your bank is delayed by like a day?

They emailed me today saying to wait 3-5 business days after the return and It was Friday so I guess thats my problem
