When i turned on my PC my PSU (Seasonic Focus Gold 650W) popped and i saw a white flash, the pc immediately shut down and i unplugged the power cable from the PC and turned it off, i haven't tried to turn on my PC ever since, is there a chance that my other components can be damaged or even dead? Isn't there like a protection mechanism in PSUs like these and should i be worried ?

seasonic offers a 10 year warranty , see if you can borrow a known working PSU to test everything else, there are protection mechanisms in PSU's but that still doesn't 100% guarantee that it will never cause damage

Yes, you might be unlucky and have some dead components.

There should be a bunch of overload protection features in most ATX PSUs, but there's no guarantee they'll all function perfectly when the PSU goes bang.

I had a PSU explode earlier this year but everything else worked fine after I fitted a brand new unit.
