[SOLVED] psu recommendation

hi guys,

i am now looking for a psu upgrade as mine is not great.

my set up:

Mainboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme 4
Processor: Intel i5 4570S 2.90GHz
Memory: Kingston Hyper Beast 16GB PC3-12800
GPU 1: nVidia GeForce GTX 480
Power: Corsair CX600 Modular
Case: typhoo pro
Hard Disk: Seagate 1TB
ssd: 256gb
hard disk: 2tb

my budget is around 50pound though, dont mind secondhand either.

Your GTX480 is an older and power hungry card, wanting 600w:

650w would be fine; if you contemplate a very strong future upgrade, 750w would cover most any modern gpu upgrade.
I have no problem overprovisioning a PSU a bit. Say by 20%.
It will allow for a stronger future graphics card upgrade.
It will run cooler, quieter, and more efficiently in the middle third of it's range.
A PSU will only use the wattage demanded of it, regardless of it's max capability.

Buy only a top quality psu; look for a 7 to 10 year warranty.

There is always a place to hide unused cables if you happen to find such a psu.
It really depends on the case.

Partial is fine since the fixed cables will be those that are almost always be used.
