So, my I was going to upgrade my prebuilt with a i7 7700k and give it to my little brother(All I did was put a gtx 1070 in it.) but the PSU is only a 240w one and when I bought the RM550x to fit in there it goes in but the screw holes dont line up. Is it fine if the PC is standing up and sitting still?

Solution
Add pictures. Prebuilt how? HP? Dell? Sounds like you may be working with a weird sized case... Those lower end prebuilt sometimes do it in purpose.

If it were me and you have the adequate spacing for the PSU but it doesn't line up, I'd say to drill holes for screws to pass to hold the PSU.
It's fine that it's sitting still.. but if someone bumps it, picks it up... Or even just the PSU running (fan) may cause some movement, you want to install it best possible as it should be.

You can do with 3 screws only

Solution
If it is a second hand prebuilt you could drill and tap holes into the part of the case where the psu sits to make sure it is compatible and can be screwed in. If not you could get double sided tape or velcro tape and mount it to the case with the fan facing the opposite of wherever the case side panel is. Velcro tape is very strong and then you don't have to mess up your case. Though you could always drill some holes and screw it in the properly drilled holes.
