Hi there,

I want to upgrade my PSU...long over due, it's a EVGA White 600W. Looking for a 850W modular to give some upgrade room in the future. Currently have a 10600K and 3060Ti, still using the ugly adaptor (2 years now!), so firstly wondering if any PSU's include a 12 pin cable and secondly whether if I bought a ATX 3.0 PSU would the 12vhpwr cable work with my GPU, I'm guessing it wouldn't because of the sensor part being in the way.

My short list is Corsair RMx, MSI MPG, or NZXT.

3060ti has 8 pin connections for power. so no a 12 pin won't work on it. no reason to get an expensive 3.0 psu if you don't need it. unless you plan on getting a new gpu that needs it very soon, it's not worth it really.

don't know what you looking to spend but this is similar to the RMx series and a touch cheaper. white version saves $10 over the black one

I have the FE card which has a 12 pin connection.

That PSU looks good but I'm in the UK and it is £184 here, was looking at Corsair 850 RMx for £135, NZXT 850 at £110 or MSI MPG ATX 3.0 at £160.

Main reason I'm asking is because for example a 12 pin cable from Corsair is a extra £20 + shipping so if there was a PSU that came with it, it may be a better deal.

didn't know you was in the UK. makes a diff for sure.

i'd take the RMx over the other 2 myself if those were my options. you could go with an atx 3.0 unit but they are costly for sure. i am not a fan of adapters but if it is a quality unit like the RMx, then using one for the 12 pin is not as bad.

Thanks, yeah think I will go for the RMx. Doesn't look like there will be a PSU that will have the cable included so will have to either live with the ugly Nvidia adaptor or get a expensive replacement from Cablemod or similar.

Probably talking to myself here  but I ended up going for a Thermaltake GF1 850 Gold, on offer for £99 so couldn't turn down at that price. Says its a Tier A PSU on Cultists, 10 year warranty, Japanese capacitors etc so looks good.
