Hey,
I currently have a 600w psu and was wondering if it's enough for my build. If it isn't how much would I need?
GPU: gtx 1080
CPU: i7-4790k

It's not overclocked or sli

Thanks in advance!

Solution
It is poor quality, get a new psu is highly recommended.
Corsair CX550M is good budget choice, but TX550M or Seasonic Focus Point/EVGA supernova G2 are highly recommended.

It's a Corsair CX600

BTW, with an overclockable 4c/8t chip, I'd want a fair amount of headroom. For instance, one very cold winter day last year, I did a test with my 4790k. I ran the voltage up to 1.38 and got over 5ghz from the chip, the TDP(not the actual wattage used, but a decent indicator) was way over 200(something closer to 300). If you get good overclock on your 1080, I bet that won't have any problems reaching at least 250watts either. See where I'm going here? No way would I think about overclocking both if all I had was a 450 watt psu.

Is it the grey or yellow?

That's the old low quality units, I wouldn't use it in a gaming pc.

How do I tell? I dont see it on the case...

The color of the psu itself is grey if that's what you mean

The writing on the Unit will tell you. If the CX600 is written in yellow(on the side of the PSU), then it's the old crap type. If it's written in grey, then it's the new high quality type. Greys are perfectly capable of using in an over-clocked gaming system. The yellow wouldn't be anything but a backup unit imo.

Good clarification. The old units are at best items to be put in the closet and only used to verify something is working or not. Never to actually run a machine. Especially not an overclocked one that games are played on.

With that out of the way. A 550watt would be the absolute barest minimum if you plan on any overclocks.

The Letters CX are in green and the 600 looks white imo but it might be grey
It looks like:
CX600
