PSU whines and PC stutters in rhythm while under load

My PSU has been clicking for a few days. I believe it was an unrelated dust issue that was causing the fan blade to be unbalanced. I aired it out, and it was still clicking but when placed on its side it doesnt. Start pc up, load up a game and notice my PSU is whining for about 1 second and then stops for a half a second. During the period when it is stopped, the game i was playing freezes and then unfreezes when the whine starts again. After closing the game and opening a youtube video to clarify, the whine is not audible but the stutter is still there. Dont believe it is a GPU issue due to never touching it, but am unsure and crossing my fingers


PSU: EVGA 750 barq (just at a year old)
GPU: evga 1080ti (just at a year old)

Any strange noises from your PSU would indicate a problem, most likely something shorting somewhere.
Change it immediately. 😉
