I'm getting an HD 7770 and the one PSU i'm looking at is an Antec 450w. It says it is v 2.3. What does that mean and is my MOBO compatible with it?

the antec vp is a fine budget unit. I wouldn't put to much effort to change it into a corsair cx unit.

Antec VP450 is a Dual 12V rail (18A@+12V on both) where as CX430 is with single 12V rail (28A@+12V), you can see which one is better and why?

Well the VP450 has 30a single rail and then protection to prevent more then 18 amps(more then likely trips at 20amps) from being pulled from each "virtual" rail. This was done for safety and to meet the ATX spec.

Now we have a video card that needs 7 amps TOTAL. and it can get at least 6 of that from the motherboard.

I think it is all good. 90% of the time the card will be able to get all it needs from the pci-e slot.

This is not a high powered system.

If i can run a 5770(takes more power then a 7770, now I have a gtx 650 ti on it) on this(14 and 16 amps and a combined of 22 amps), then the VP450 OR Corsair's offerings are plenty.

Should be fine despite the note, after all it is still in the recommended list.
I think the note is there only because Corsair has been switching
OEM's on some of their models & the forum is waiting for
updated lab tests.
