I made a thread about this problem three years ago, at that time I had had my psu for two years and I still have it today. It's a Corsair AX860.
Around 2015 it made a very clear pulsing noise, sounding like a cricket about once every second. I never did anything about it and it went away. Sometimes I've been able to hear it very faintly.
Today It came back more louder like back in 2015.
So obviously it's been working without any problems but I am just interested in what could be causing it. The psu fan has always been in the hybrid mode, so It's not running right now when the sound is occurring.

Another thing I want to mention: Around a year and a half ago when I moved to another house I noticed that during winter time, combined with the flooring that I have in the room where my computer is, I would build up static electricity very easily.
I accidentally touched my front usb port right after walking up to my PC and got a small shock.
After that, all sound from the speakers and headset were crackling and sounded awful. Both from the front and rear 3.5mm port.

I continued to use my (damaged) motherboard, and instead bought a cheap ASUS sound card and that has worked great. Never had any problems with the motherboard so far, like blue screens or anything like that.
The reason why I mentioned this is because the only difference from three years ago is that the pulsing, electric noise can also be heard very faintly through the speakers.

I'm thinking I'll continue to use my damaged motherboard as I have no interest in replacing my current i7 4790K.

Thanks.

Call electrician to check your house for grounding.
Usually shock when touching somethin is when electricity is building up and cannot leave for example capacitor, unless you have carpet and socks and you caused that shock.

I have VS 550 which produces same buzzing noise not sure if coil or cap.
Turn off your PC, unplug it from wall , keep swotch to 1, press and hold power button, plug back and see if it still does, usually i resolved my problem cause i shorted my PSU while PC was running.

Why havent you tried RMA'ing the psu?

The house is properly grounded. I have laminate flooring on the top floor where my pc is and I've noticed that up there specifically, I will build up static electricity and shock everything metallic like the desk and so on.
I don't know why I didn't rma it, I guess It's all the trouble of taking everything out of the case again.
I tried what you suggested but it's still there unfortunately.
