Pump and Reservoir Question

I plan on getting a Reservoir and Pump for my single CPU loop. I'm just a tad confused on how it all goes together. I plan on getting the MCP655 Pump (http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-pmp-27.html) and some 250 ml Reservoir.

As for the accessories go, can I assume I will buy the pump mod kit (http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12197/ex-pmp-120/Bitspower_D5_MCP655_Pump_Mod_Kit_-_Black_Sparkle_BP-D5MA-BK.html?tl=g30c107s1805#blank) to make the back part of it look nice, the pump top (http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12201/ex-pmp-124/Bitspower_D5_MCP655_Extreme_Pump_Mod_Top_V2_-_Acrylic_-_UV_Blue_BP-D5TOPAC2EX-UVBL.html?tl=g30c107s1805#blank) to make the front part you see most look nice. From there I just make sure the pump is below the reservoir, and attach the tubing from out of the pump to the in on the bottom of the reservoir. Want to make sure I get right before I buy.

Any opinions or advice? Reading the reviews of the pump tops people are saying some bad things about them, so Im quite unsure about them. Thank you all who reply!

you could do that, or if you have the space , you can use a dual bay res.. and install the 655 in 2 cd drive bays. then you don't have to deal with making sure the pump is fed properly etc and where to mount the pump and res. this is what I did http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_318_665&products_id=34300

Thanks for that! I would go with a bay res but I like the look if the cylander, and I'm going to be doing PC repair so I would like to know how it all works.

Is what I listed correct, how it would all work and be set up?

The MCP655's stock top is actually pretty good, so adding an aftermarket top does not give a huge increase in performance. Aftermarket tops are mainly used on the MCP655 to allow the usage of your choice of fitting and to improve the visual appeal of the pump. Those will work with that pump. remember most importantly to make sure the pump is on the floor of the case. and the res MUST feed it first in the loop. this is why i prefer the bay. all inclusive and dont' have to worry about that stuff, then I can have hte water flowing down through the loop instead of going against gravity and going through the blocks too. the gravity will help with the flow rate 😉

I understand about the looks.. maybe go for a t-res then? I plan to buy a couple and install on a shroud i'm getting.. set up like a twin turbo style horizontal. Feel free to ask any questions I am happy to answer.. Also I do not recommend any dyes or fluids in the loop.. distilled water and a silver kill coil is more than enough. ( been running that way for 3 years now with no issues and have not had to clean the loop at all )

Thanks for the help! Wanted to be sure those parts would be compatible before I bought them. I forgot the exact reservoir in getting but I'm not home so I cannot check, but I believe it's an EK multi option res. I'll be sure to ask any more questions as I come across them!

A res holds water. and feeds the pump.. the pump pushes the water through the loop
