Push-Pull Config with Corsair SP120 as Push and AF120 as Pull

Has anyone seen this done before? According to Linus, this is the most efficient way to configure fans on a radiator. I'll be using the h100i to cool my CPU and I am really considering running the Corsiar SP120 high performance fans for push and the AF120 performance fans for pull. The real question is, would this eventually ruin the fans or actually be less efficient since the push fan doesn't match the pull fan that it's paired with? Why would Linus suggest this configuration if it isn't actually a viable option? What is your experience with this? It will make it more efficient. Just get the most powerful fans you can, though pay attention to noise. AF120 fans are nice. Keep the stock ones though, as they are more powerful. Use them as push. The air will slow down as it passes through the radiator, so the pull will just keep it going. It won't wear them down or anything.
