Putting a ddr3 graphics card into a ddr2 motherboard

I have a mcp61sm-am motherboard and I have 8gb ram in it but I have have a 512mb graphics card in it and I was was wondering if I can put a ddr 3 graphics card in it

Yes you can put a DDR3 or even a GDDR5 graphics card in that motherboard because DDR2 is system ram. DDR3 is your graphics card VRAM. Just make sure your pc has a PCI-e slot and you'll be all good!

VRAM and System RAM have nothing to do with each other. So long as your motherboard has a PCIe port it will work.

Sure you can as long as you power supply is sufficient, and has or not needed cable for power to video card (if required)
