Hi, I'm looking to reset my computer to factory mode but to keep Windows 10 which it came with. So basically when I got the computer it was ready to go with Windows 10, that's the point I'm looking to get back to due to performance issues recently. Due to not having an installation disk or a usb with Windows on it. I've seen videos and other answers showing how to factory reset, but not without removing Windows too. I'm very untechy. Searched about a bit to no avail, so sorry if this has been posted before. Thanks ahead.

I think your PC either has a a utility that will do that for you....or it doesn't.

I think you need to poke around in the PC documentation and the PC itself and see if you can find anything related to restoring it to factory status.

If it doesn't have a utility to do this....I think you will have to do a clean install of Windows to get it back to at least "close to what it was".

Thanks for the reply. I poked around but I didn't see anything like resetting it to factory but with Windows. I don't know how I would do a clean install of Windows if the PC came with Windows but no installation disk or usb with Windows on.

Windows Reset and your Factory Reset may be two different things.
Windows 10 has a built in reset that reverts windows back to as if it were just installed. All user data & Programs are gone.

Factory Reset often involves booting to the recovery partition (how you do this varies by brand, make & model#) which formats the drive & reinstalls whatever the pc came from the factory with. The same as if you just removed it from the box and turned it on for the very first time. If it was XP then you will have XP again. All other data would have been erased by the format.

Sometimes a Factory reset is the same thing as the Windows Reset and the one involving the recovery partition is also available.
