I am by no means am a expert at this. I am putting together a gaming rig for my grandson's 16 birthday.
He has no budget and can only dream. His current system is a antique. After doing some research this is what I'm putting together for him:

Corsair 5000D case
Asus X670E-E mobo
Ryzen 9 7950X3D cpu
Trident Z5 neo RGB DDR5 64gb ram
WD Black 1tb SN850X ssd
Cooler Master ML240L liquid cooler
MSI Mag 850 GL PSU
RTX 3060 gpu

Should this last for a few years?
Any recommendations on what I might do differently. I know the GPU isn't the best but he can upgrade further down the road if he chooses to.

Thank you

Much more balanced builds. You had too much emphasis on the CPU/Memory/Motherboard and not enough on the GPU and Storage.

Nothing wrong with the 4000D Chassis, if that is the look he wants it will be perfectly fine.

Something else to consider. For a system you want to last a few years, I would personally do something more like this, so you have a GPU with enough v-ram to hold up longer.
