Hey guys, I have a Phanteks Enthoo Pro case....by default it comes with 2 case fans, both 3 pin tied into a PWM hub within the case. The manual suggests to plug the 4 pin connector cable to the CPU Fan Header on the MOBO. I have an Asus Z97-A MOBO, but I used the CPU Fan Header for the CPU Fan and plugged the PWM connector to the CPU_OPT header on the MOBO. Now, the fans are running at 1100-1200 RPMs all the time and are quite loud. I am a noob lol, so I'm not sure exactly how to go about correcting the case fans so that they only run fast when needed. The MOBO I have seems to have quite extensive "cooling" capabilities through the BIOs but I don't want to tinker until I have an idea of what I'm doing.....ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Solution
check your BIOS or motherboard's software for fan control options. you should be able to create a "fan curve" profile to control what speeds the fans run at determined by the temperature of the components.
