PWR_FAN connector on MB: maximum current draw?

Hi all,

Got the AMD 970 MB from Gigabyte and planning to hook up 2 fans on a single fan connector:

2x Arctic F12 Pro + in line resistor for each (to reduce speed/noise), connected to a Y split fan connector on the PWR FAN from the MB => my question is, will 2 fans and 2 resistors draw too much current from a single MB connector?
can this damage the MB?

You will be fine with that setup. Plus the resistors actually lower the voltage the fans actually receive so you are surly safe.

I know they lower the voltage but what about current? they could be 2 watt resistors (can tell as they are covered..)

You will still be fine. It is perfectly fine to run run 2x 5 watt fans off 1 header. the issue comes in if you run 3 fans off the same header.

Most fans are 12v at 5 watts at peak loads.
