Hi, I've been looking around for a software capable of remapping keys on my keyboard similarly to how SteelSeries Engine 3 does so for their own keyboards.

I looked around in Armoury Crate, but I didn't see such a settings under 'Devices' -> 'System'. Is there an official software for reconfiguring keys for ASUS keyboards and laptops with their built-in keyboards? I have an ASUS TUF Gaming F17.

Armory Crate is the official software for Asus peripherals. If your KB doesn't show up in there, it doesn't support Armory Crate and it's features.
In this case, you have to use 3rd party software,

That's really strange considering that it advertises and comes with Armoury Crate installed, along with other ASUS software, yet it doesn't show up on that website's list of supported PCs (I see TUF Gamings in there, but not the F17).

Do you have any recommendations as far as third-party keyboard software that does what SteelSeries Engine 3 does (including macros and repeating), or is Windows' the best option? I'm using Windows 11, but I'm guessing that article still applies to it—if Windows 11 didn't move too much settings around.

Armory Crate is used for all sorts of things, rather than only remapping keys. I guess you can use it to change the LEDs color/profile?

I'd go with Windows option.

If you want the fancy 3rd party features (macros, repeats, timing etc), better buy standalone KB that also supports dedicated software for it.

E.g i'm using Corsair Strafe RGB and i can do all those fancy things within Corsair iCUE. One thing i like about the fancy 3rd party software, is custom profiles for different games (which i'm using). Meaning that when i launch a game, the KB profile is loaded (lighting, key mappings) that i use within that game. Once i close/exit the game, the default profile is loaded that i use within Win/web browsing.

Windows' seems to be my only option anyway after recalling searching and searching for alternatives and a possible official software that turned out to be Armoury Crate after all, and I don't know how I'll make room for a standalone keyboard which... feels odd for me to have for a laptop with a built-in one.

Thanks for the help!

I don't know how I'll make room for a standalone keyboard which... feels odd for me to have for a laptop with a built-in one.

Yet, there are loads of people who have laptop, but also use dedicated KB, mouse, monitor, external drives and even external GPU with it. So, it isn't "that" strange thing to do.

I've used external monitor with my laptop, since it gives better readability (my laptop has 9" screen) and i'm also using mouse since using touchpad is tedious.
But all of the added hardware that can be used with laptop, to me, using external GPU (eGPU) is the weirdest thing. Might as well buy proper desktop PC, rather than laptop + eGPU.
