Just next to where the AC battery charger plugs into my Presario CQ62-214NR there's an LED light that changes color, and may remain on continuously, or flash, in different ways at different times.

Here are some of the ways in which the lights display:

- white light continuously on
- white light flashing on and off every two seconds
- white light on for one second, then orange light on for one second, then this sequence repeated [in other words, alternating white and orange lights flashing]
- orange light flashing on and off every two seconds

Could someone tell me what these different LED signals mean? And also, if there are other LED signals that are possible, but I haven't mentioned them, I'd be interested to know what they mean, too.

BTW, OS is Win7.

Thanks.

The information can be found on page 6 of your user manual http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02102005.pdf (direct PDF link) but is four possibilities as follows
1) Blinking white: The computer is in sleep mode
2) On white: The computer is connected to external power
3) Amber: The computer is charging
4) Off: The computer is not connected to external power

The alternating white, amber would seem to indicate that it is charging while in sleep mode

Hi C12@Friedman,

This is just the information I wanted. [BTW, I had browsed quickly through the manual about a week ago, but for some reason I didn't stop to look at that page thoroughly enough, so your effort is really appreciated.]

Thank you very much.
