Are G0 Steppings actually out yet? Because i'm about to buy from my local dealer tomorrow for $275 and they have loads of stock. Should you think they have G0 steppings too? should I ask if they have them, if they don't should I wait. or should i just get a B3 stepping. I'll be ocing to 3.2Ghz (400x8).

If you want G0 on a Quad-Core, either spend 500$ on the Q6700 now or wait for at least a 2 weeks until they run out of B3 Q6600's.

Or, do what is smart and buy an E6750 and overclock it to 4.0Ghz on air. And then wait for Yorksfield or even Nahalem and get 4.5Ghz with 8 threads!

To address the issue of "will the warehouse ship the correct CPU?"

Odds are they will keep the two versions separate, they are different enough to where I couldn't image them mixing the stock, besides they would want to send out the older stock first anyways. It would be extremely imcompetant for them to mix the two. I worked in a warehouse a few yers back and they never mixed old stock with the new.

If you want to be sure your getting the new stuff call or wait a few weeks and the stock of the older version should be depleted, obvioulsy demand is huge right now with the price cuts so it should deplete the stock rather fast.

A warning for those in UK thinking of purchasing from ebuyer, I had an old B3 stepping Q6600 delivered this morning and I can easily see it's the old stepping from the box. Dispite what the admin on the buyer boards says, you can tell the old stock from the new from the box on the outside. At the end of the product code 'SL9UM is B3, SL9UM is the new G0.

I'm not happy at getting the old stock, but there is nothing I can do about it.

TankGuys doesn't have the GO in yet, but they claim they SHOULD have them by August 6th. I officially payed the full amount (295 bucks) for it, so hopefully they will get them in on time.

It'll be interesting to see who gets a GO stepping q6600 first.

When did you order it?

I buy from NCIX and plan on buying my Q6600 from there, however if you look through the forums you find that the staff will not confirm wether or not it's the G0 stepping. They think it could be as they just got new inventory from reliable sources as they say, however so did newegg and others. I think it's worth waiting for just to be sure. As for the people who have already ordered from NCIX can you please inform us wether or not it is infact a G0 stepping.
thanx

Damn I got a q6600 today myself and it says prod code BX80562Q6600SL9UM mm#887620 FPO/Batch # L645G523

Also looking at the forums most have showed that they are getting the SLACR on there invoice order form. Some that bought it in the store said they are getting the G0 and don't even see the B3. I ordered yesterday but have not gotten my invoice (that has the SN I guess on it).
