I know you shouldnt form a conclusion based on 1 data point, but...BIG Thumbs UP for www.clubit.com. When Newegg, Fry's and Tigerdirect had no idea what i was talking about, clubit (who i had never heard of before) put me on a waiting list, guarenteed it would be a SLACR and that i would receive it by Tuesday. Fed ex just delivered it today, a few days earlier for 295 plus tax (free shipping). These guys deserve our business!

Just ordered my Q6600-SLACR from ClubIT for $295 and it is instock according to their website. They have it clearly listed as GO stepping SLACR. We'll know shortly. Haven't got my confirmation email yet though...kinda slow....its been 1/2 hour. I'll let ya know what the deal is.

Yeah I never got a confirmation email for making an account or for my purchase, but I can pull up my order on my account on their site, so oh well, hopefully it all works out. Ordered it today with 2 day shipping, hopefully I get it on Tuesday!

Another "unconfirmed order".

While placing my order, I printed out the relevant pages that clearly showed I was ordering the SLACR since you never know what that invoice is going to read when you're done.

Sure enough, it reads:
BX80562Q6600 *CPU,INTEL C2Q Q6600 2.4 S775 RTL

Seems they're willing to distinguish the difference before placing the order but not on the actual invoice.

I placed my order Friday night and still haven't received an email confirmation. They haven't even acknowledged by email that I opened an account. I don’t think I’ve ever placed an order with any company without at least getting an automated email response acknowledging my existence.

I guess I'll give them a call Monday.

i had the same situation. my online invoice was exactly as you described, but the paper invoice that arrived today with the cpu indicates its a Slacr...and so does the cpu package!

I was pesimistic, but after having them deliver, i think you can relax. They seem to be on the up and up...

cheers,

cs

That’s reassuring to hear, cs. Thanks for posting.

The return window on the other parts I’ve ordered is closing fast so I’m counting on ClubIT to come through. I already received a DOA keyboard but I can’t test the other components until I get the processor.

thats funny, we are all in the same boat., although i only ordered my stuff this week so i have a little time. Newegg split up my shipment and while i already got some of the components, i wont get the vcard, memory and HD drive until monday otherwise i would have started working on it once the cpu arrived this morning. Funny enough, newegg were the first people i called, yet their order will be completed last...oh well.

out of curiosity, what mobo is everyone putting their q6660 onto and which OS? While i might regret it, i plan on loading vista and was just curious. i was thinking about buying a sound card versus simply using the onboard hd audio that comes with the board (BFG 680i), but i have heard creative is not up to speed on drivers for vista. i would appreciate any insight anyone has...

Still don't have a confirmation Email yet either. Only ordered the Mobo and processor from ClubIT about 6 hours ago though. When I check my order, it says that the status is "Pending for Approval"; whatever that means. They are an internet retailer; are they only open monday thru friday? oh well...gotta have faith.

I'm going with the following
Gigabyte D3SR P35 mobo
2 gig G.skill ram
evga 8800gts 320
Cheap Raidmax case with 4 80mm fans and 1 120, which i chopped up and added an extra 120mm, 80mm, and 60mm. Fans Fans and more Fans!!!!!

I've been thinking about upgrading to Vista 64 as well, since it can handle more ram and I've heard it can handle multi cores better then xp.

Maybe the email software at Clubit is messed up or something... who knows.

I just cannot wait for my G0! Its the last thing I need to finish this build!
