My rig is the following:
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93GHz Not OC (At stock condition)
XFX Radeon HD 5870
4GB ram DDR2
ASUS P5Q SE
550W PSU
OS: Win8 Pro x64bit
Resolution @ 1920x1080
I had a Radeon HD 4870 and played battlefield 3 (Multiplayer) at less than 30 fps and it usually fell even less than 20, making the game unplayable. My graphics were and still are as low as they can get. I changed my GPU with my brother's Radeon HD 5870 and it's still the same thing. I was thinking of buying the Q9550s for about 250 euros but i'm not sure if this might help my situation.
Will this CPU (that fits my mobo's socket, which is an LGA775) raise me to, let's say, 40 fps EVEN at low graphics?
My goal here is this: To reach playable FPS at battlefield 3 without sudden FPS drops that make it unplayable, no matter the level of graphics. Please tell me your suggestions. Thank you!
