Hi. I've recently read in a reply somehing about QDR memory (running at 4 ghz 8O ) and I've got very surprised... Any reference on where to learn about this? By the way, any reference of where to learn about everything related to hardware? 😳 I mean... there's a lot in the web, but I don't know a source where all topics meet. TIA, gordo

QDR is server grade ram isn't it? Last I heard it was only stable at 500mhz or so. Its supposively the successor to DDR, however I don't think the transition will be anytime soon. I think the 4Ghz that your referencing is 4Ghz effective, it might only have a chip clock of 200mhz or so. There's the fact that its Quad channel per stick, and also I beleive there is some prefetching as with DDR. I'm no expert on the subject though, just some stuff I remember from one of my engineering classes.
