QoS setup help

Hi, can someone guide me into setting up the qos for the router ZTE H108L? Can't find help anywhere on the Web. The interface is way complicated.

My goal is to give the Apple TV Mac address and prioritize it.

QoS doesn't allow you to priortise devices, it only allows you to priortise certain types of network traffic; VoIP, gaming, etc.

If you want to priortise a device then you need to look into bandwidth management.

All you do is key the mac address in the field called "source mac" and leave the action thing set to highest. you can likely leave the rest blank.

Problem is what does "highest" mean does it get 10% more of 50% more...who knows.

Still it likely will not do what you want. This only has a impact on traffic you send...ie upload bandwidth. Almost all issues with home routers are download bandwidth and this device has no ability to set thing on download. Still you really can't priorities traffic on download. The ISP is in full control and they will drop/delay randomly and by the time your router see anything the data is gone.

ok thanx i will try. but do i put the mac address in source as you say or desitnation? isnt destination more logical?

No because you can only control outbound traffic. So on outbound traffic the source will be the internal machine.
