I have been loyal to ATI for a long time now but mainly because some how when i try to run NVidia i always burn them in a mather of days.

While reading this article i realize that the brands i chose because of there brand are the ones that give me the most problems like Iomega and motorola and still i keep buying them.

I wonder why?

I used to be a fan of AMD, but that ended with Core2 and I've gone back to Intel (having not used one since Pentium MMX). Currently, I am using a Core i7 920.

I am loyal to NVidia (even after the Vista crashing and some other odd driver issues I've had), have never bought an ATI card, and never intend to. Currently, I am using a GeForce GTX 285 1GB.

For branding, I love EVGA and bought my recent video card and motherboard (EVGA X58) based entirely on the EVGA brand, not even worth looking at any other brand. EVGA support, customer service, and track record with all the products of theirs I've ever used is irreproachable.

I am fairly loyal to Palm products (even though Garnet is ancient at this point) and look forward to the Palm Pre, not as an iPhone killer, but as validation of my loyalty to the company. Currently, I am using a Palm Treo 755p.

For non-homebrew computers, I always go HP for their fast and friendly warranty support and reliable systems. (Dell has given me such a runaround on getting replacement server parts that I will NEVER buy a THING from them.) Currently, both my fiancée and I use HP Pavilion m9300t desktops.

[citation][nom]zingam[/nom]No! I'm not loyal to any company. I'm loyal only to myself. I would buy what is best for me![/citation]

although this seems the most logical approach, why would a person give up the quality of a company they have good experience with? I mean newegg has been so good to me, I ALMOST never buy things from anywhere else... and besides, i usually look at their user reviews before buying a product, which once again, proves my loyalty to them... you can fish out the idiots by looking at the positive rating, or even if they bought the product from the site! i

I like Creative Labs. All my pcs have their sound cards.

Kingston RAM - ASUS M/B - Saphire GPUs - Intel CPUs - WD HDD - Samsung Monitors - Thermaltake cases and PSUs - Tom's Hardware and Firing Squad.
I could buy products from other companies but if i find what i want from the previous companies i wont even think about something else.

Finaly there are some companies i dont like at all.
Logitech - my mon bought a 2.1 speaker set and it's horrible.
The speakers are attached to the sub, man, that's cost reduction with no reason. she allso bought a Philips 19" monitor which is fine but i change samsung for no other.

AMD vs Intel, used to go AMD (from 386DX40 upto XP1800+ barton) then Conroe was unveild since then I don't see any reason getting an AMD, 3 Intel processors since then.

NVidia vs ATI: had one NVidia (mx400) since then only ATI 9700Pro,x1950Pro and now 4850. I Like them better they seem to be of better value.

Motherboards: ASUS vs Gigabyte : had a bunch of Asus boards now I only take Gigbayte, durable capacitors.

Momory: whihcever is cheaper.
HD: Whichever is cheaper.

I am one to do research before purchasing, but Panasonic has mostly left me with a warm fuzzy. I realize that I have to avoid Panny for some purchases (speakers, a/v receiver, etc), but they seem to offer very good quality with their electronics with good reliability. Pricing is also typically competitive. I'll look at Panasonic before I look at other brands.

I own Nikon DSLR but am in the market for a compact digicam. At a fair price of ~$250 Panasonic offers their TZ5 with 10x optical zoom and HD video recording. Not only do they offer good quality products, but they are also often on the leading edge of well-rounded products.

I refuse to buy Sony!!

Panasonic, Yamaha, Klipsch, General Motors, Apple: these companies have my loyalty. Computer components are all variable. I buy whoever makes the better components at reasonable prices.

Oh and Newegg is awesome!!

I stick with intel, that way I can reuse my components for next upgrade.
I almost always buy western digital hard drives, they have served me well for well over 10 years.
I prefer nVidia over AMD/ATI and cannot ever remember buying an ATI card.
I will order from Newegg as long as the final price is negligible (a few dollars) compared to another place because they have thus far treated me fairly in every instance. Although I did have an issue with an SSD I bought, but they finally let me RMA it.

Basically, I do not float around much when it comes to purchases. You treat me right, give me a good product, a good price, I will buy from you in the future.

I go between tiger direct and newegg, whichever deal is the best. Tiger direct was willing to reship a $300 order due to the post-person setting the box next to the garbage pile :-\ Good thing I found the box in time.

I'm also a loyal fan of Best Buy and their Geek Squad. Whenever I'm feeling down I head over to their laptop display models, load Goatse in the background, and use regedit to delete administrative permissions so they can't change it back. :3

I try to maintain at least two trusted companies so that I can be flexible enough to get good value.

Cases:
1)Thermaltake(Mid/Upper end cases)
2)Silverstone(Upper end cases)
Note: I lament the demise of Maxtop for low end cases.

PSU:
1a)Enermax
1b)PC Power & Cooling
3)Thermaltake (Tough Power series only)

Motherboard AMD/INTEL
1)ASUS/ASUS
2)DFI/DFI(great boards, but needed BIOS updates can be slow)
3) /Gigabyte(Never had good luck with them on the AMD side)

Processor
1)AMD(Sub $1500 PC)
2)Intel($2500+ PC)
Note: I usually stick with AMD up to about $2200, but sometime Intel configurations can tempt a little lower than that. Over $2500, AMD doesn't make much sense.

Heatsinks/fans
1)Thermalright/Noctua
2)Thermaltake/Thermaltake
3)Zalmon/Scythe

RAM Desktop/Laptop
1)OCZ/Corsair
2)Corsair/G.Skill
3)Crucial(Ballistix only)/

Video Card ATI/nVidia
1)HIS/EVGA
2)ASUS/BFG
3)MSI/XFX
I like ATI hardware better than nVidia hardware, but ironically currently run 4 nVidia cards and 1 ATI card. This is mainly due to the far superior support from board partners on the nVidia side. XFX has recently added ATI cards, but I haven't had any experience with those cards yet. Here's hoping EVGA and BFG go both ways as well.

Hardisk
1)Samsung
2)Seagate
3)Western Digital(Raptor series only)
I've had too many issues with Western Digital's consumer drives. I've dealt with the click of death on no less than 60 drives. Seagate was my number one before they created their own data recovery service and crafted policies to try and keep you from using third party services. This seems like a pretty major conflict of interest to me and recently looks to be affecting their drives reliability. Samsung is my number one less due to merit than the fact that they seem to be one of the few HDD manufacturers that haven't yet dropped quality for a quick buck. I'm open to suggetions in the HDD realm.

Optical Drives
1)Pioneer
2)LiteON
3)LG

Keyboards/Mice
1)Logitech/Logitech
2)Razor/Razor

Speakers
1)Cambridge(Creative Soundworks, Megaworks, Gigaworks, etc.)
2)Logitech(Mid-upper to Upper end)

Monitor
1)Viewsonic(Gaming/Graphics depending on monitor)
2)Samsung(Graphics)
I've been hearing good things about EIZO, but haven't yet been able to afford one to give it a go.

E-tailer
1)Newegg
2)ZipZoomFly (Used to be GoogleGear)

Newegg is amazing! Great prices, but it's their service that stands out. If you live in California, order by 11 a.m. and select the FedEx 3-day shipping option you will have your item the next day! Crazy. And they have a no questions asked RMA policy.

For hardware I'd have to say:

Seagate HD
Samsung LCD
CPU - no loyalties, but Intel is kicking butt right now
keyboard - Microsoft
corded mouse - Microsoft
wireless mouse- Logitech

Oh, and the car to get me to the LAN party? Honda.

In a way, loyalty is based on good experience and most people probably are loyal until they have bad experiences. No reason to switch companies if you're absolutely happy with the one you chose before.

However, once things change (pricing, design, overall philosophy or even DRM), I would say virtually anybody would be open for alternatives if the changes are against your preferences and other offers align better with your needs.

So for my part I am somewhat loyal, but also somewhat final once I turned my back to a certain company. Case in point: Palm, which I loved until the LiveDrive's lackluster stability and the company's lack of innovation made me look somewhere else. (Hello, iPhone!)

I'm a straight-up MSI Soldier. I definitely am not opposed to other companies, but when it's down to nothing but brand choice, MSI always wins in my eyes, and for no specific reason. I am a hard-core nVidia fan, too. I almost always soldier on for nVidia. I used to be an AMD fanboy, too, but ever since Core2 came out, they've never been able to win me back. I'm not a loyal Intel fan by any stretch, but I have yet to rekindle my affair with AMD due to lack of interesting products. It's always catch-up and price cuts, no power!

Newegg for life, screw the hardware companies. Back in the day you used to get a full compliment of software and ancillary hardware with a retail motherboard or videocard. Now you're lucky to get cables and a printed manual. If I wanted OEM packaging I would purchase OEM parts.

i'm pretty loyal to Corsair memory. i haven't bought anything else in years, simply because i haven't found a reason not to like them. i've had to return memory a few times, but i always get a free replacement, and they always have a lifetime warranty. even if there is something that might be better or cheaper, i enjoy the fact that i don't have to shop around. if it ain't broke, don't fix, etc.
