eyemaster: Cookies are text files that sites, their sponsors/advert-people, and any viruses pwning their server can read or write information to, usually used for tracking. Cleaning them out has nothing to do with performance, only privacy.

How about instead of deleting cookies and having to re-enter information you have cookies from your favourite sites stored on a flashdrive. Then when you boot up copy them to the cookies folder and away you go. When you finish delete the contents and the original cookies are safe for next time.

Not. Rocket. Science.

I delete cookies when something goes wrong for a website. For example, my username is already in use or something else. And I also use it to free up my hard drive space.

Heh. My girlfriend isn't that computer saavy.

But for the question, I delete all history, cache, cookies, and everything else listed in Firefox at each time I close the session. No ifs, ands, or buts.

[citation][nom]hundredIslandsBoy[/nom]Of course I do! I would not want my hot girlfriends to discover I'm really a geek in a Greek God's body (workout 8 days a week) if she finds out how often I read Tom's Hardware![/citation]

LOL!!

Post of the day!

if she loves you, she won't care that you watch porn

Or she'll just watch porn with you 😉

Or eat cookies with you.

Clean Cookies everytime I finish browsing, etc. I remember all my passwords, which is good for my brain exercise.lol

i see alot of people posting about deleting after looking at porn... what about before? I always delete before and after. If you go to a compromised porn site, it can access all of the cookies you have from before.

So based on that, I guess I clear my cache and cookies almost daily :)

Awhile back I used the method proposed by fukk_cookies, blocking all third party cookies and prompting for first, but it was very annoying to have to answer the prompts for all first party cookies - especially for sites trying to put 5 to 10 cookies on my machine.

I stumbled into my current method - which works very well. In Cookie Pal, select sites are authoized to accept cookies while other select sites block them. My weekly run of One Button Check Up removes all cookies accumulated during the week. But logging into regularly used sites the first time I encounter them each week is easy with Site Key (Norton Internet Security).

Well, now that there's porn mode for Firefox and Internet Explorer, really no need.

I do run CCleaner once a month to clean up my temp and registry, though.

I used to worry about cookies but now I am concerned with the socialization of the USA by the left wing (health care anyone?) and figure cookies are nothing to worry about. Have any of you boys and girls givin' out your credit card number over the phone or online. Cookies....Oh Please.

lol @ picture

I have Firefox delete everything (history, cookies, etc.) when it's closed. However, I have a couple of exceptions for frequently-accessed forums that I prefer not to have to login every time for.
