I just use it for Halflife2 Deathmatch and Crysis. Runs like a dream at 1600x1200 with full details in both games and it was amazingly dirt cheap.

i think it would be easier to describe what i don't use my computer for.

i haven't changed the channel on my cable box in months. that will change when F1 starts. i watch the races live on cable.

i use a cell phone for calls. haven't migrated to voip yet.

i do use an mp3 player to listen to music but mostly use the pc and shoutcast.

I use 3 computers mostly, I have a homebuilt Windows XP computer(Athlon 64 X2 4400+ S939...) that I use mostly for gaming and file backups for my other computers, My Dual 2GHz PowerMac G5 which I use for all my internet needs, watching movies/TV shows (24" monitor serves as my TV) and it houses my entire photo/music library, as well as Pro Tools for various audio projects I do. Then I have my MacBook Pro that I use for mobile computing, I have it set up with windows XP in boot camp so I can play games when I am not at home, and basically covers all the needs I have when I am not home and need a computer for anything. I also use it when I just don't want to sit at the desk and work on things, sometimes the couch with the laptop is much more comfortable.

Purpose: Movies, Demoing, show off

Lab station: (XP32+OS X 10.4x)
P4 3.0E, 2GB, X850XT, 120GB
Purpose: digital oscilloscope, digital funtion generator, RF bench...lab testing/designing and calculations

Big Calculator: (XP64)
Opteron 185, 4GB, GF7950GX2+Quadro FX4500 (2nd slot quadro trick), 600GB
Purpose: redering for final design (soliwork...so on), Matlabing...anything that i can dump to it and let it do the compution

Server: (Server2003)
P4 3.0Ghz, 1.5GB, 120GB
Purpose: Internet Proxy, DNS, Network load balance, networking monitoring, firewall, remote host

Few others backup system: (like 3 more pachine)
AMD64 3200+/3500+/3000+, evga SLI mobo*3, 2GB*3, 200GB*3..PCI-EX vga
purpose: backup machine

GF's machine (XP64)
Opteron 185, 4GB, GF8600G, 500GB
Purpose: her computer, (DO NOT TOUCH)...(CAN:T TOUCH THIS)

After building modding and spending hours trying to get everything to run the way I want until I change something then have to rearange everything its seems then My real computer usage comes down to...
reading and surfing the net (reading sites like toms)
writing papers doing research trying to find info to get work done
email (I really use my phone for checking computer for sending)
shopping good deals on computer parts
playing games all sorts from timewasters to intense and old to new
music, im, etc.
codeing matlab c++ fortran
lots of excel numbering and pdf reading
viewing pictures and editing
watching tv and movies
facebook crap
then probably fixing it after it breaks corrupts bsods etc
humm and i ask myself why i spend so much money on computers.

As someone else on the first page mentioned - depends on the computer.
1) Laptop > Work/library/portable DVD player
2) HTPC > Everyday TV watching/DVR/Gaming/Email/Research
3) Gaming PC 1, retired > LAN party server, otherwise, random storage (music/videos) or hosting game servers.
4) Gaming PC 2, current > Gaming/news/email/research/library, typically in that order. Some random storage, but I like to keep the hard drive clean for teh gamez. Also, if not in use, hosting a game server (pretty good upload for smaller games).
