Signature baby, thanks to MS and House Party!! My main computer is running sixty four bit Windows 7 Utimate Signature Edition, but as I had already jumped at the pre-order before I knew about the launch party I had already bought two copies. I have sixty four bit Windows Home Premium on the HTPC, and a copy of Windows 7 Professional is sitting forlorn at this point as it had been intended for my main computer.

As sometimes I joke with my girlfriend that I am a computer virus, in that I tend to spawn computers, I expect I will find a toasty home for the homeless OS.

Already tried the 64-bit RC for a bit.

Just got two copies of Professional 64-bit for my current PC and for a new PC, because I wanted to have the XP Mode. The extra features in Ultimate doesn't seem critical. I gotta admit though, the extra features in Professional do not seem really necessary for home use either. I wanted to have the XP Mode just in case.

Windows 7 Ultimate when it finally gets shipped to me... I got it through the exclusive discount program Intel gives to retail employees (Retail Edge).

Although the XP-Mode would be nice, I really don't have a use for it (the kids computer is staying on XP if I should ever happen to need it). Went from Vista Ultimate to a clean install of Win7 Home Premium upgrade family pack on my desktop and both laptops. Network backups are done via Win Home Server and drive encryption is done with Truecrypt instead of bitlocker. Running a core i7 and 12GB of ram on my desktop and everything works like a charm.

[citation][nom]Shadow703793[/nom]Just curious, did any one here order the Win 7 during pre order when they had Home Premium for $50?[/citation]

1 - ultimate, 2 - pro, 2 - home premium... will be installing the pro next week after it comes in on Monday. Have an HTPC running ultimate 64 RTM. Will upgrade on this weekend.

Personally I used the RC for a few months and ended up putting Vista back on. First few months were great, but out of no where I began having audio problems and strange stuttering in a number of my games.

Since I don't got MSDNAA anymore, no longer a student, I'm gonna stick with Vista till they patch it up a bit. The endless rebot problem proves there are still a few bugs to work out, but so far it looks like Win7 is having a better launch than its recent predecessors.

[citation][nom]Renegade_Warrior[/nom]64-Bit Ultimate!I must have full control over my system and Ultimate gives me the control that Premium lacks.[/citation]

Hmmmmmmm

[citation][nom]gigabyter64[/nom]Got Win 7 pro 64 bit for xp mode, wish I had checked it out better first, so many limitations in xpm that im finding it a waste of time, specially if you want access to optical drives to write to etc, only viewed as generic or as a shared drive ROM. Should have saved cash & got home prem & dual booted again.[/citation]

What apps do you so despratly need for that? and any VM tech is like that.

[citation][nom]TunaSoda[/nom]I use the version that came out before Vista...[/citation]

Windows Dinosaur?

Still running Linux. After testing Win7 RTM (Pro 64-bit), although better than Vista, it's slower and less flexible. XP mode too, is a joke: it requires a very recent CPU to run.

VirtualBoxing my XP instead. Extra bonus: 3D support in emulated machine.

I am running Ultimate x64 RC for the moment and have just purchased Windows 7 Ultimate OEM x64. I will install it however in some time since I have to reinstall everything from scratch.
I will use Professional as well, but no way Home ..

Been running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on both desktop and laptop since RTM. Clean-formatted my Studio 1555 the moment it was delivered, and Windows 7 it's been since then.
