Quad channel ram on dual channel motherboard

So, i have a deal to buy Corsair Vengeance 8gb stick 1600mhz. It is quad channel, but my motherboard supports dual channel. Is there gonna be a problem if i put this stick on my mobo?
BTW, my mobo is Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3

Or is it better to get a dual channel 2x4gb kit by kingston HyperX 1866 mhz?

You won't get dual channel performance with just a single stick of RAM as dual channel only works with matched pairs.

So it's a no-brainer, get the 2x4GB kit.

the only difference between dual, triple, and quad channel kits is the manufacture tests the pack to make sure all sticks in the kit work together. Buying 2 dual channels kits of the same kind at the same time there's a .0000001% chance that you will have problems. The quad channel kit running in a dual channel board you will two sets of dual channel.
