So disappointed that this is more like Quake III Arena II, rather than Quake V, or a especially Quake I reboot kinda thing. I think there's a big opportunity and desire these days for a kind of Lovecraftian single-player FPS like Quake I was.

But rather, we're getting an online-only multiplayer shooter, and I just have no interest in that. And I know that a lot of people DO want that, but they're also spoiled for choice for that at the moment. This is just kind of an "Us, too!" kind of thing from iD, when they've never really be an "Us, too!" kind of studio.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Q3A. I just don't want another one. There's a real single-player-focused FPS renaissance going on right now and another single-player Quake right now would be amazing. The problem is that while Quake I was its very own unique, distinctive thing, Quake II and IV were very much just about shooting aliens in space, which Half-Life and Halo did much better.
