Hello, one day my ethernet card suddenly stopped working. I found it in hidden devices in device manager but it said its disconnected, i tried installing update but windows said its up to date. I uninstalled the device and tried to install the drivers but it says installer can't find qualcomm atheros ar81family ethernet controller on your system. Tried disabling and enabling lan in bios but it didnt work, please help me. I'm on Windows 10, ASRock H81M motherboard.

I agree with the above post the ethenernet chip likely has actually failed. If you had been doing updates or something then maybe but when it just fails it is not likely software.

I would check the bios just to be sure, you can disable the ethernet port in some bios, maybe you get lucky.

Since you have a number of PCIE slots on the motherboard a PCIE ethernet card should be fairly inexpensive solution.

I had something like this happen one time before, and it just started working after a long time.

No immediate idea as to what has happened.

However, I suggest taking a look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for any errors codes, warnings, or informational events that were captured just before or at the time the Qualcomm card stopped working. Past (if possible) and present.
