Query about a type of rubbing alcohol

Hi,

I want to repaste my laptop cpu and gpu.
I couldn't get 90% or above alcohol. I got a 100ml rubbing alcohol from a medical store.
This is transparent blue in color. http://
The composition is:
Isopropyl alcohol USP 70% v/v
Purified water IP Q.S
Color: Brilliant Blue FCF

Is it ok to use? Will it leave any substance after using it?

I wouldn't recommend medical alcohol for use in Hardware cleaning.
Best thing to go for is industrial grade Isopropyl alcohol 80-90%.
You should be ok with medical but it dries slower.

It's always recommended to go with 90% isopropyl alcohol when cleaning hardware, but most of us have a hard time finding it.

You will be okay using 70% isopropyl/rubbing alcohol. Just make sure you only let the alcohol touch the top of the cpu/gpu and you shouldn't have any issues.

Yea, that's not a problem, i won't pour it 😀.
Thing is, the blue color; i don't know if it will leave any residue which would interfere with the performance of the TIM.

use acetone for cleaning TIM off cpu's, but be wary around acrylic case windows 😉

No way.
Even if I don't get any kinda alcohol, I'll use water to clean the surface 😀

I'm not sure if its a good idea to clean the surface of your cpu/gpu with alcohol that contains dye additives.

Is there any chance you could return or exchange the alcohol you purchased for one that's clear?
