^^ yah they definately should. i installed the swiftech spacer kit and kept the stock hs/fan and it lowered temps on both cores by about 10C at idle so im more than happy with it.
LambofGodE3X, what brand is your gx2? cuz evga allows you to take it apart and reapply the thermal paste with better stuff without voiding your warranty. if you don't want to do this i suggest rma'ing cuz mine never gets over 75C at load, even before the spacer kit.

i actually do have an evga gx2. i mainly got evga because of their warranty. so what do you think my chances are of them sending me a 7950gt? 😀 probably slim to none.

so, since the card runs very very hot, is that a reason why my frame rates are so low? my friend and i think that the card starts to throttle itself down once it starts getting into the 90 degree area.

i dunno, it doesn't seem that old to me. perhaps he's still considering it.

Hmm maybe.. big jump in activity.. March 22 - April 15 there was nothing.. but w/e thats besides the point..

Drivers sub-par and they run hot.. if you are still considering.. I would go for an 8800GTS 320.. a good rule of thumb right now for buying a single card setup is: Anything below an 8800GTS 320, get an ATi.. while nvidia dominates from the 8800GTS 320 and up.. but this will inevitably change and probably with the release of the r600..
