Hey guys I have a Ryzen 5 1600, oc'd to 3.75MHz, and a GTX 1060, and 16gb RAM. So I noticed how the GTX 10 series card's prices are dropping, so I decided I wanted a new one. I really want to be able to play any game at max settings at 1440p at preferably 80 FPS and no lower, obviously I will have to lower some options like Nvidia game technologies, and I know some games are not optimized well. I'm going to buy a new case for better airflow, a CPU air cooler, SSD, better PSU, and a HDD with lots of space as well. So I'm waiting for Black Friday to get a GTX 1080 which is around $400-500 average. But I have been looking at game benchmarks and I notice a GTX 1080 oc'd, a Ryzen 5 1600 oc'd, and 3200MHz 16gb RAM aren't quite enough to run games at the settings I desire at about 80 FPS, in fact for some games the FPS goes below 60.
So I have to choose between getting a new Ryzen 5 2600 CPU or a GTX 1080 Ti. Though the new Ryzen option is WAYYYY cheaper than the GTX 1080 Ti option, which the 1080 Ti is kinda too much for me to get. So will either option either be able to reach my desired frame rate anyway? And what is the better choice?
