Question Question about GPU Cooling

I recently put this build together, and I've noticed in certain games my GPU puts off enough heat to heat the glass side panel to uncomfortable temperatures, is my card at risk, or is this normal?

The card in question is a Gigabyte 1080 Ti OC 11 GB

How high is high? Actual temps. Also if your case is getting hot inside, maybe you need more airflow through the case.
From watching Afterburner while playing stuff, my GPU skyrockets up to 84 C in anything very intensive.

I don't have any way of mounting any additional fans to the back of the case, but I have room for another on the front, would that help?

Edit: For reference, my ambient temp is around 58-59 C

If your side panel is heating up, that means your GPU is removing the heat from itself effectively, it's a common misconception that having your computer feel hot means it's overheating, it's actually quite the opposite: if the outside of your PC is hot that most likely means the inside is nice and cool for the transistors.
