Having a friendly debate with my buddy, he thinks the EVGA 1070ti Ftw 2 is a better gpu for performance than the MSI 1080 gaming 8G, these are obviously our cards and I wanted to get some other opinions for the luls 😛

Solution
in certain frame, some game outputs more frames base on GPU clock speed + RAM clock speed alone because both GTX 1070Ti 2432 CUDA cores and 2560's GTX 1080 not fully utilize, while other game relies on stream processor count (nVIdia CUDA core), on <720p res the difference would be minimal, but at high res usually higher core count out pace lower core count, to prove this try manually set both GTX 1080 and GTX 1070Ti at 1.7GHz on one same PC and similar graphic preset.
Do a GPU focused benchmark like Furmark. Compare the numbers.

Or overclock your 1080 and get a 10% edge on him no matter what he does.

In my opinion, a highly overclocked 1070Ti might equal to 1080 on stock settings. But an overclocked 1080 will easily beat the 1070Ti unless you're bottlenecked somewhere else.

Just watch your temps or you will get LOLed if you start throttling.
