Question about my GPU

I installed the AMD Catalyst and it says that my GPU is Radeon r9 290. The problem is my GPU is Sapphire r9 290 TRI-X? What's going on?

Thats correct. You have a sapphire 290, which has a base chip manufactured my AMD Radeon. The drivers dont recognize the brandings.

Yeah, that can be a bit confusing at first, especially with older cards.
My old 7750 showed up as a 7700.
