Question question about pcie cables

i want to get a 6 pin male to 6 pin male pcie cable. i cant find any and can only find 6 to 6+2.my question is can i use the 6+2 as a 6 pin or am i forced to use the 8.thanks

What are you trying to achieve? Sounds sort of like you want an extension, but those would be Female to Male?

Most extensions take 6+2 (or a solid 8) to 6+2, so you could still use a 6pin aspect. However, I do believe 6 pin extensions exist also.
A male to male, sounds like a replacement for your PSU, which would necessitate knowing which PSU we're talking about here.
