I'm about to buy ram for an i5 9600k but it says the that it only supports 2666hmz. Does that mean I can't use 3600 when the motherboard says it supports it?
You can use the faster speeds supported by the motherboard.I'm about to buy ram for an i5 9600k but it says the that it only supports 2666hmz. Does that mean I can't use 3600 when the motherboard says it supports it?

Always double check the frequency the motherboard can support before purchase, if you plan on future upgrades to your build then it is better to purchase components such as motherboard or PSU slightly above what you need now and don't need to buy new ones later when you upgrade things like memory, GPU, CPU, adding rgb etc.I'm about to buy ram for an i5 9600k but it says the that it only supports 2666hmz.
