Yep, I noticed this in my last campain with the ring of blinking. One
of the PCs had it 'on' all the time for encounters. Then I noticed the
activation bit.
Still it doesn't take that much to reactivate it every so often before
it runs out, and remain invisible. Just means you can't sleep
invisible.
