Question about Samsung x427- how to send midi to play ring..

Hi, I've got a Samsung x427 and would like to make my own ringtones
with my own cds. Do I need a data kit or something? what is the best
way to do this.

Well, it depends on what you want to do. You say midi in the subject
line, but mention your own CDs in the message, which would imply you
want to extract a bit of digital audio to use as a ringtone. There is a
thread about this already, but it has this link:

They have a WAV/AIFF to SMAF converter, which is the format the phone
uses for "real tones". Simple drop-and-drag process. I imagine you can
use a data kit, but I don't have one, so I don't know how. I do it by
using the wireless internet, and navigating to tagtag.com. tagtag.com
allows you to set up a free account, into which you can upload your own
ringtones, then download them to your phone. The directions are very
clear, and it's quite easy.

I didnt realize that there was a similar posting- appeared after I
posted.
Thanks for the info. I have already dloaded the program. Now I must
download a program to edit. will Winamp do the job? I cant find
protools free.

I have tried to use tagtag per your earlier post but I find the site
excruciatingly slow. Slow to the point of being unusable. I have tried on
different computers with the same result. There must be a better way.
