Do I need to do anything in BIOS? or can I just install my new sound card in the open x4 slot and be good to go?

Windows 7 64 bit, PC Gigabyte Z77M-D3H-MVP mobo,
PCIe x4 slot is open for new sound card.
The PCIe x1 slot blocked by the video card in a PCIe x16 slot.

I want to install a Creative Sound Blaster Z SB1502 sound card.

Last week I tried installing a new Asus Xonar 5.1 DGX sound card and received a hardware conflict error message from the BIOS, it would not boot up into Windows 7 and I lost video, so I removed that Asus card and bought the Sound Blaster Z.
The Asus card could be defective or I needed to do a change or something in the BIOS, don't know. I am hoping the SBz card install goes better. Any advice before I try it?

Update on sound card install progress,

I wasn't sure if I should have gone into the BIOS to Disabled> Audio Controller under Peripherals,
so I bypassed the BIOS edit and proceeded with the install of the sound card itself.

Before I shutdown the computer, I went into Windows 7 Control Panel > Sound > Playback Tab and disabled Onboard Audio driver speaker which was named VIA High Definition Audio.

Shut-off computer.
Pulled the computer power plug and removed side panel from the case.
Installed the Sound Blaster Z card into the only available PCIe x4 slot
Started up computer.
Windows detected card device and ran a program.
When it was done, I opened the .exe device driver program file I previously had downloaded from the Creative Sound Blaster Support page for model SB1502 and it was put into the Download Folder.
I ran that program.
After it finished, I checked Windows > Control Panel > Playback Tab and saw that Sound Blaster Z device was the default device
So far so good.
Plugged in the 3.5mm speaker cable into the SBZ card. I have Logitech Z523 speakers.
Then I ran iTunes and played music.
Success.
Oh wow, to think that I actually did this by myself without having to go into that scary BIOS.
I am a happy camper now.
