So I built my computer a few months ago and have an ssd as my primary drive. Since ssds have a shorter lifespan than hdds will i have some sort of warning before my ssd gets close to failing? And if its relevant my ssd is a crucial mx100 256gb

Also when its time for me to change it will i be able to transfer my windows 8.1 to it or will i have to buy a new one?

I am just asking these question to be prepared ahead of time so i wont panic when it happens to me.

Solution
You can write gigabytes of data to it every day for several years before it wears out. Don't worry, just use it. Your windows 8.1 is tied to the motherboard in your system, not the ssd so yes you can transfer it.
