Hey guys,
Recently I decided to buy the GTX 970 GPU and as far as I read on the forums/youtube, the Gigabyte G1 would be the better choice. The problem is, my PSU has only 2x6 pin PCI power connectors and the G1 has one 6-pin and 1 8-pin connector. Will it still work (like some motherboards has 1 8-pin + optional 4-pin connectors for CPU) or I'll have to change the PSU? Or look for another 970 with 2x6-pin connectors (I can't find one atm, all of the gpus that i seen have either 1x8-pin or 1x8-pin+1x6-pin connectors). Or should I use some adaptor like this:

or this:

IDK how good or bad that would be.

Thanks in advance.

We would have to know what PSU you have.

The graphics card and CPU are what largely use the 12-volt power, so if the CPU is not too demanding there is enough for the graphics card.

When they assign the 2x6-pin that is based usually on a worst-case scenario for a demanding CPU such as an overclocked FX-8350.

So list your CPU and if it is overclockable tell us what it is overclocked to and we can estimate though in general I would recommend a 550W or better.

^ LOOK ^ You don't need to buy adapters. :)

So the only question remaining is what PSU do you have? What CPU? Is it overclocked or stock?

Forgive my ignorance, apparently, I do have the 8-pin connector too, it is just split into 6+2pin and I didn't see it because it was somewhere behind all the cables.
