So this will be my first PC build, and there's one thing about the P400S that has me confused.

Do i need a specific motherboard for the RGB lighting at the front to work? I've read that some motherboards have special connectors which are required for RGB. Does that just apply to things like case fans, or would that also apply to exterior case lights?

I imagine someone here must've built in the P400S before, that can hopefully shed some light on it.

Thanks, and sorry if it's a dumb question.

Short answer is no. You connect the sata cable to the power supply and you're off to the races. it also provides power to the fan controller on the front. if you get more LED strips (the phanteks ones are awesome), it can also control those if your MB doesn't have a RGB header. These are also compatible with Aurasync from ASUS motherboards, but i like not needing a software based solution. Happy Building!
